Questions And The Answers
1. Linda, Do you buy magazine collections?
Yes I do. Please send me your list, along with the general condition of the magazines ie. on a scale of 1 to 10, where
1 is ready for recycle and 10 is perfect, please tell me what kind of condition your magazines are in. I only buy magazines
that are complete, that have no moisture damage, or major rips or tears. Mailing labels are acceptable, don't pull them off .
In addition please state where you are located, and what you asking price is. I pay for the shipping up to Canada.
In terms of what kind of magazines I buy... practically anything, so drop me an email with your list and info.
2. The magazine I want isn't in stock, could you contact me when it becomes available again? Or
can you get it for me?
I work on a first come, first served basis. Please bookmark my website and drop by the website from time to time to see what has become
available. I do not provide a search service. What you see at my website is what I currently have on hand. I'm getting
stuff in constantly.
3. The magazine I wanted isn't in stock, when do you expect to have it back in stock?
Unfortunately I have no idea when. I'm always buying up magazines so it's probably
just a matter of time before the magazine is back in stock. Drop by the website
every now and then to check on the availability of the item.
4. What does FN, VG, ml mean?
These are abbreviations used to describe the condition a magazine or an item is in.
Please head over to my information file on Grading & Abbreviations
5. Are these "NEW" magazines?
Some are, and some are not. Where you see the grade NM (Near Mint) that
denotes a magazine that was purchased at the time it was on the newstand.
Others are magazines that were gently read, and some are reading copies only. Always
refer to the grading descriptions which I've included in this website. Click here to view the grades, their abbreviations and what it all means!
6. What currency are your prices in?
All prices at the website are in US funds. For Canadians the prices will be converted into Canadian dollars.
7. I still am confused about ordering, how do I order?
Simply tell me which magazines you want and include
the state/prov and country to where the order will later
be shipped to. I'll take it from there. It's that simple.
8. What does "out" mean beside an magazine entry?
"out" means "OUT OF STOCK", meaning I don't have a copy of the magazine in stock.
Update: I'm in the midst of changing "out" entries to "SOLD" just to make it perfectly clear
what the status of the magazine is. Some people are still unclear on the word "out" so over the
next few weeks all the "outs" will be changed to "sold". Just another improvement to help you navigate
the website more easily.
9. Can I pay by personal check?
I accept several other secure forms of payment including money orders, bank certified checks,
Paypal.
Email me for more details. Unfortunately I do not accept personal checks or bank transfers.
10. Can you send me some Scans???
Try the image gallery at the search engine Google, www.google.com.
You will find lots of pictures to download there. I do not do scans.
11. Research Work Requests : "... Linda, can you check all your 1980s issues of TIME for an article..."
Research work/requests may or may not be taken on by myself. If it's a request that takes 2 minutes to do, I certainly
let you know if I can do it or not. If you just want me to verify something before you buy the magzine that is fine. Please tell me exactly what issue
you are referring to and I'll check. But remember you must be you must be specific - I need to know exactly what you want me to verify and the magazine title and date.
For clients requesting research which will take time to do
I will be charging a non-refundable research fee which will be payable before any research is conducted.
For more information please contact me via email. I may or may not accept this type of work.
12. I have all these clippings and I need to know what magazines they are out of.
Could you go through all your magazines and tell me all the article titles and dates
for this particular star/model?
I do not do this type of research. I would
recommend that when you do buy clippings that you ask the dealer to tell you which magazines the
clippings came from. Otherwise consult your library. They keep magazine back issues on file.
13. I would be interest in purchasing more than one copy of this magazine. How do I know if you have more of this
particular issue?
Just drop me an email line. In many instances I several copies of a particular magazine. Feel free to inquire.
14. Is the Shipping costs included in the price of the Magazine?
No, the shipping costs are not embedded in the price of magazines. Shipping costs
are calculated at time of receiving an order.
15. When you wrap up my order how much care do you put into it?
Being both a seller and buyer I am very diligent in my packing. I want to ensure that you
receive your order intact and protected. I use only quality packing material. And all magazines,
books, paper memorabilia are bagged twice to protect paper from moisture damage (ie. rain and snow).
In addition, items are wellpacked in mailers and boxes and are sealed well with packing tape. For larger and heavier orders,
the boxes I use are also sealed with fibre tape which adds strength and intergrity to them.
All packages are clearly addressed and where applicable the phrase "Do Not Bend" is clearly
marked on the front. This is standard procedure for packing.
16. Do you have a store I can visit?
Unfortunately no. I am strictly a mail order business.
17. Can you photocopy an article for me and pop it in the mail or fax it to me?
I do not provide a photocopy or fax service.
